84th birthday

Happy Birthday Dad!
We celebrated my dad's 84th birthday this past weekend with lunch at the Glen Iris Inn in Letchworth State Park. What a joy to still be able to get together with siblings(minus 1) and spouses(her husband joined us). Of course as dad wanted it, he "took us" out to lunch. We are so lucky to have him with us after the life style he once led in Florida for 20 some years. We are truly blessed!

time well spent

We spent Thursday evening at the Glen Iris Inn at Letchworth State Park. My father enjoys taking his 5 children and their spouses to dinner once a year. What joy to see him surrounded by his children and spouses. He has been such an active part of this family since we brought him back from Florida 11 years ago! What a great move on our part!!

It was a noisy time with everyone chatting and enjoying wine and beer before dinner. Of course, the dinner food itself was delicious. But most important was the time spent together. As someone once said: "There's no present like time and no time like the present." Enjoy those times!!!

Visit from Dad

Nephew John andBrother David
Dad rode to Brockport with my brother as he brought his son back to college. We invited him to stay with us for a few days. Days will be filled with conversation, crosswords and daily trips to Walmart! More as the week progresses.

Memories

At this holiday season we not only celebrated the Birth but also were reminded that death is a part of life. We attended the service for the mother of a dear friend of ours. Her grandchildren who were present sang "Amazing Grace"- what a moving moment. She was so obviously loved and looked to as a woman of such faith by so many people.
We also attended the service for Mary's cousin. I have never seen a church so packed for a memorial service. Dick was remembered by family, friends and football associates. What a tribute to him. As one of them stated - "Dick loved things beginning with F - family, football, fishing, friends and fun!"
Memories are built everyday in the everyday interactions we have with people. My thought is to go out and make those memories, as they are our legacies.

Merry Christmas

Our celebration will be a bit smaller this year, but just as special. Our thoughts and best wishes are with all of you as you hold dear your memories of Christmases past.

Football, Friends and Family

We enjoyed a fun weekend starting with dinner at the Northside Inn with Cousins Dick, Edie and Anne. On Saturday it was off to SUNY Brockport's first season game with Dick, Edie, Doug Leslie and Parky. Such an exciting game including watching our friend Nate play and nephew John make his varsity debut!
Senior tailback Garet Lynch (Valley Stream, NY/Springville Gardens) rushed for 186 yards on 36 carries, including an eight-yard run in the second overtime period, to lead The College at Brockport Football team to a 26-20 victory over William Paterson in the season-opener and Brockport's first New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game. http://www.brockport.edu/athletics/football/
